Anything that has to do with Michael depresses me because I simply cannot believe he is gone. He was the best at it and would always be. Like all things Michael had done when he was alive, expect all his post humous work to smash records and garner more attention than Obama. I really hope corporates i.e. Sony do not get greedy and start releasing material that he would not have wanted released when he was alive. But then who can stop them in this money hungry world where margins mean more than protecting artistic integrity. Look no further than what happened to Pac’s legacy. Anyone actually listen to any new Pac material put out? I know I don’t.
Head over to www.michaeljackson.com to listen to the new “This Is It” track which was apprarently recorded over ten years ago so not so new. What is it I was saying about releasing material an artiste would not have released if he/she was alive again?

I totally agree with what you say about MJ having music released that he wouldnt want released.
But i have two views on this….
First being……we all know MJ was a perfectionist……AKon said in an interview with him that MJ was so fun and cool and chilled out but once he got into the studio he was relentless in his pursue of great music…..and that they would do track that to Akon(who we have to admit is sort of a modern day midas…..90% of his tracks become major hits) where amazing but MJ would say “no we can make it better”…. so in that light i think that some of those tracks may actually be ill…..the thing is only someone close to MJ or an artist with enough experience with making tracks that work would be able to say which out of his unreleased songs would be hits……..
This brings me to my next point….. I think the Corporate should select a team of producers and singers…..allocate them old MJ tracks that he did not release and leave it up to them to give their own impression of them….
For example…. the select No I.D. and alicia keys…give them 3 tracks MJ did….say…..work on it,….embellish them….and then re-produce them…. There should be a greatest unreleased hits by MJ…. these tracks should be reworked by musics greats,,,Neptunes……Yeezy….Rick Rubin(michael was actually a fan of his)…..even indie groups should be involved… Michael was all about togetherness…..i think the only way to treat the material of an individual who inspired and laid the cornerstone for the music industry would be to gather a group of artists from different genres and put them in a studio and set them to work….. I say who better to carry on a masters legacy than the students of the master!
that MJ interview with Pharrell gave me goose bumps cus you can only begin to imagine how P felt….. down to the way he would drop in tracks that werent in the mainstream to the way he always called him “sir”….. and the statements he made at the end as to why people say what they say about him……it was all very interesting! i totally loved it!
All in all……great post famalam!…. definately one of the best!
