Artiste Watch: D’Prince releases solo material

DPrince-Omoba

As I write this, I have had a song on infinite repeat. It is one of the new releases by D’Prince and ofcourse produced by Don Baba. Don Jazzy comes blazing hard on the production. Its about time someone started sending Don Js beats to some American artistes. I believe they could use it. The beat for “Omoba” is so nuts it could be a potential runaway christmas hit if handled correctly. It has a catchy hook, a ridiculously nice beat and D’Prince actually sounds like he is in his element. As a dj, it is a perfect recipe for party chaos.

D’Prince has always been the tricky Mo Hits artiste for me. I sometimes cannot comprehend the way he projects himself unto tracks. I find his raps a bit awkward on tracks especially on early material from Curriculum Vitae. Is it his voice or way of delivery? I don’t know. One thing for certain is it is not as bad as before and that makes his three new tracks all the more enjoyable. That’s just my opinion. If you feel differently, do put in the comment let me see what I am missing. D’Prince is definitely not the best of them on the label but these three new songs from him does show some promise of talent and I believe as time goes by we shall definitely see some improvements that would cement his claims on Omoba.

Listen to the new tracks below

D'Prince - Ooze feat. D'Banj
D'Prince - Omoba
D'Prince - I like what I see feat. Wande Coal

SIDE BAR:Mo Hits, can we have a remix of “Omoba” with K-Switch on it pleaseeeeee. I have a feeling he would do everlasting damage to the song.

Happy birthday to Don Jazzy.
