While watching Kanye West’s BET performance of Power, my eyes kept darting to his neck jewellery piece. I immediately assumed it was an Egyptian sarcophagus cover similar to Nas’ I AM cover art album. As a lover of all things Egyptian, I was buzzed. So obviously, I made a quick trip to KanyeWest’s home to see if he had more info on his Egypt inspired piece. Voila. Kanye was wearing a Horus head neck piece and a four piece pyramid ring. I love the bike chain rope. I am sure we will be seeing more Egyptian inspired pieces as the promo for Good Ass Job gears up. According to these folks, Good Ass Job has a scheduled release date for September 14 but don’t believe it until Kanye types it on his blog. Those folks didn’t even know it was Dwele on Power describing him as” a singer that is not Kanye featured on the song singing the chorus”. While they corrected that after a few hours it still shocks me that it happened. All you had to do was google “kanye west power”. DEAD at the fact that these folks are literally charged with supplying pop culture to the masses and we wonder where the lost in translation music problem comes from.
