Watching the video is like a love movie akin to some people watching Breakfast at Tiffany. Clarks and Concept have collaborated to create the Concept Weaver Boots. I have been banging this all day. This album has been receiving some great reviews and I definitely give this album a huge thumbs up. Kano has to be one of the best UK acts and this album continues to reinforce that exact point. With stellar production, guest spots and good lycisim from Kano, this album is highly recommended. Kano’s back catalogue is looking really healthy with this new addition.

I picked mine up form Play.com because they have a special signed copy. You can also pick the album up from itunes or HMV – HMV has a special bonus of the album mixed by DJ Swerve.

Casio G Shock East Sessions X Risky Roadz

To celebrate the release of the Dee & Ricky Hyper Complex watch, G Shock held a special East Sessions night which turned out pretty well and included a nice surprise and appreciated impromptu performance from Ghetts. On hand were Mercston, Rival, Marvell, Shadez The Misfit, Sean Thomas etc. The East Sessions gives upcoming and established artistes a platform to connect with their audiences and perform songs in the Casio G-Shock store. Oh with free drinks.

Artiste Watch: Shadez The Misfit

I had written a good paragraph on this artiste introducing him to you guys, and then I saw this video. I guess this video will tell you more than you ever need to know on who Shadez The Misfit is. I first met Shadez TM at the Casio East Sessions. He had a bit of crowd who seemed quite buzzed about him performing. I got to speaking to one of them about Shadez The Misfit’s work and he couldn’t offer up any more praises even for a chocolate biscuit (I just woke up and that’s the best I could come up with thanks to Tinie Tempah’s would you risk for a chocolate biscuit resonating in my head. Who says that??). I digress ever so slightly. Anyway, random guy in the crowd even said “before Cudi did that alien shit, Shadez been on it bruh”. So I looked into the guy’s eyes *cue Godzilla scary tune* and said “Yeah!”. That is one serious claim from a fan of an artiste who is still in the works. So I waited patiently till his performance and guys, despite the average sounds from the event’s speakers, Shadez TM came out sounding good and wasn’t disappointing. I actually got hooked. My cam battery died so I couldn’t post up half performance videos. Best part for me is Shadez is an artiste from London who doesn’t sound like a UK artiste. Yes, that might sound cliche but he really doesn’t which is a breathe of fresh air. His blend of music which one can be tempted to easily dismiss as Cudi-esque does have a sound, an identity to it.

I therefore went to his next performance and I got some footage of this spaceman. Swag, lyrics and beats on point, he delivered. I have to commend Sir Sleaze, his producer, for a beat he made for this tune Shadez perfomed called Lazer Wars. That beat is intense. So there you have it ladies and gentlemen, we do have a young uprising, and talented artiste called Shadez the Misfit and he is sure to be everywhere in your space soon – in a good way. No NASA flops (at least I didn’t use the chocolate biscuit line).

Bigz – The Starman EP

Cor blimey, is that…is that Bigz, no really, it is the Bigz, the creator of the word Flygerian that I loathe so much? Yes, it really is Bigz. Bearing this in mind, I remember there was a time – year 12 or so – when I actually thought dude was a credible guy in Sway’s crew. Lately, I haven’t heard much from him so seeing this on my twitter timeline because of @wretch32 RT, it was a bit of a ummh – interesting, right lets see what we have here thing. To be honest, he definitely still has his wordplay game intact. Bigz is back and reinvigorated and is bringing with him the spirit of Naija to his music. So much so he has eLDee lace up a track. Word!
That said, this is actually an alright EP to be honest. I am happy so far and nodding along as I eat a nice home made bagel sandwich (thanks mum). Bigz does have the ability to craft catchy tunes. Remember how Cor Blimey crept up on you without your express permission? Well, he has continued that on this EP and is evident that Bigz has gotten better while he was away due to tragic circumstances. The tunes on this EP don’t sound sub par although there are flashes of autotune the EP could really do without. The beats are solid and the guest appearances do deliver.

Verdict: This is one free EP that is worth your paid for bandwidth. So hit download.
