Normally, I watch Gaga and roll my eyes faster than the Vancouver olympic sleigh folks, but this time, I decided to watch and I applaud this video.
Take part Michael Jackson, Madonna, a huge dose of Gaga’s original mad creations with a heavy sprinkle of out this world Quentin Tarantino sex, drugs and violence and this video becomes a hot platter of visually stimulating moving pictures. Everything needed to make your Imam, Pastor and Rabbi weep. Check. Gays, Lesbians, homicides and a Buck Pussy Wagon, I love it. First watch and expression is WTF. At the end of the video you feel almost like you have been through a movie and didn’t pay for it. And props to Beyonce for this one for she turned in a really good performance. I really hope this video does not get banned from tv as this is what videos are meant to be. Modern day visual art.

Anything that has to do with Michael depresses me because I simply cannot believe he is gone. He was the best at it and would always be. Like all things Michael had done when he was alive, expect all his post humous work to smash records and garner more attention than Obama. I really hope corporates i.e. Sony do not get greedy and start releasing material that he would not have wanted released when he was alive. But then who can stop them in this money hungry world where margins mean more than protecting artistic integrity. Look no further than what happened to Pac’s legacy. Anyone actually listen to any new Pac material put out? I know I don’t.

Spotted on Interview Magazine via The Neptunes, there is an amazing interview Michael had with the good fellas at Interview mag and Andy Warhol.

ANDY WARHOL: Hello?

JACKSON: Hi.

WARHOL: Gosh, this is exciting. You know, every time I use my Walkman I play your cassette on it . . . How have you been?

”Everytime I use my Walkman, I play your cassette on it”…Yup Andy Warhol was bumping Michael on Walkman.
Fast forward 2003, Interview magazine arranges for Pharrell to get interviewed by Michael. NUTS. You read the full interview and you can tell by the way Pharrell was speak ing in this interview he was in awe. I would be to. Michael Jackson = The Greatest. I’ll let Khaled tell you….”belieeeeeeeeeeveeee that”. Below is an excerpt from the interview Michael had with Pharrell.

JACKSON: Okay. What would you say inspires you in your music? What is it that inspires you to create your music?
WILLIAMS: It’s a feeling. You treat the air as a canvas and the paint is the chords that come through your fingers, out of the keyboard. So when I’m playing, I’m sort of painting a feeling in the air. I know that might sound corny, but—

JACKSON: No. No, that’s a perfect analogy.
WILLIAMS: And when you know it’s done, you know it’s done. It’s like painting or sculpting. When you let it go it’s because you know that it’s finished. It’s completed. And vice versa—it tells you, “Hey, I’m not done.”

JACKSON: Yeah. And it refuses to let you sleep until it’s finished.
WILLIAMS: That’s right.

You have to make sure you have the comple collection of this work by Universal Motown. A very diverse bunch of producers have been enlisted to make their own remixes of classic Michael Jackson songs. Boy they do not disaapoint. Example, Salam Remi’s remix of ABC is out this world.
